Who are the Highest Scoring Batsmen in India?

27 May 2022

Throughout the years, India has given the world legendary batsmen that have certainly added a lot to the world of online cricket betting for Indians.

The list includes active players as well as legends like Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina.

While we can’t rank them all, below you can see a list of the highest-scoring batsmen in Indian cricket that have entered the record books.

Yuvraj Singh

One of the most legendary players to ever come from India, Yuvraj Singh played in all forms of the game but played ODI and First-Class more than any other format.

A left-handed batsman, Singh has broken many records in the game. He played for India between 2000 and 2019, scoring endless runs and inspiring hundreds of young players to follow in his footsteps.

Sachin Tendulkar

Considered by many to be the greatest batsman in cricket, Tendulkar is a legend the likes of which the world has yet to see again. A poster boy for ODI, Tendulkar has inspired the generation we’re seeing break records in cricket right now.

Over 463 ODI matches, he scored 18,246 runs with his insanely high record run at 200. His average is pretty higher than Singh’s at 44.83 for his career.

Sachin Tendulkar also hit 49 centuries during his illustrious ODI career which made him such a legend.

Sourav Ganguly

Experts consider Ganguly the best-ever left-handed batsman from India. They’re not wrong – he has scored 11,363 runs in 311 matches in his career and 22 centuries as well!

His highest score is 183 so when it’s all said and done, Sourav Ganguly is one of the Indian cricket batsman greats.

With a batting average of 40.73 in his career, Ganguly’s heroics for India in ODIs will forever be remembered. Many of his peers and experts rightfully put him in consideration for India’s best ODI batsman of all time.

MS Dhoni

This list wouldn’t be complete without the legendary MS Dhoni. The only captain in the history of cricket with all ICC trophies, Dhoni has a cult status in India and has captained the national team for years.

The first player to win the ICC ODI Player of the Year award twice (2008 and 2009), MS Dhoni has hit over 10,000 runs in his career in 321 matches. And he’s still going strong at 38!

Virat Kohli

Most likely the most popular cricket player in the world at the moment, Virat Kohli has broken numerous records and he’s not even close to retirement.

A prolific run-scorer like the game has never seen, he’s already well on his way to breaking Tendulkar’s record of 49 ODI centuries - and if anyone can do it, it’s certainly him!

Playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL, Kohli is notable for his insatiable scoring hunger and never giving up. Virat Kohli may very well end up the best Indian batsman of all time. He certainly appears a lot in Pure Wins' cricket betting tips when he's playing!

Rohit Sharma

Although he started his career pretty slow, Rohit Sharma evolved into a great batsman. His highest score is 264 and don’t let his lower average fool you – he’s got plenty of fuel left in his tank.

His 264 runs are the highest for any ODI International Player. No one has achieved such a feat before which is proof of Sharma’s abilities.

His incredible plays have made India a dominant team and for that, he deserves a spot on this list.
