I'm not going to pretend my MI vs DC betting prediction was difficult to make - the Mumbai Indians don't have any underlying form to call upon, reflecting their league position.
They have relied on individual moments of brilliance rather than performing at a cohesive level. The likes of Jasprit Bumrah and skipper Rohit Sharma have threatened to flicker into form, but too often this season, the MI have shown to be brittle and easy to brush aside.
Contrastingly, the Capitals are hitting their straps just at the right moment. A remarkable bowling performance transformed a precarious situation against a dangerous Punjab Kings outfit into points on the board last time out - Shardul Thakur (4/36), Axar Patel (2/14), and Kuldeep Yadav (2/14) starring with the ball in hand.
I think it will be a comfortable win for the Capitals - I can see them confirming a spot in the playoffs.
Mitchell Marsh to be DC Top Batsman
It was a toss-up between the two Australians to carry the can for the Delhi Capitals with the blade, but I have gone with Marsh over Warner to top score for his side as part of my bigger-priced MI vs DC betting tips.
The experienced international was worth his weight in gold to the Capitals in the victory over the PBKS - his 63 from 48 balls meant his team posted a competitive 159/7 after being 0/1 and 112/5.
He is posting solid numbers in IPL 22- averaging 35.85 at a strike rate of 133.51, which is even more impressive given the truncated nature of his season. Marsh was sidelined with Covid-19 before suffering from a hip injury last month, and has only managed seven games in Capitals colours.
I think he is a solid bet at a good price to get some runs.
